Meeting Rick: A Life-Changing Encounter
January 22, 2015
The adrenaline from my boat tour was still pumping as I pulled into my driveway. I had barely stepped out of my car when I heard a voice say, “Wow! You have really good energy!”
Blindsided, I responded, “I get that a lot from other people’s animals and in weird interactions, but… you can actually see it?”
The man standing before me, Rick, explained that he could see my aura and described what I was going through at that moment. His words were eerily accurate, but I wasn’t entirely convinced. Maybe my mom had given him a rundown about my life—after all, she had always wanted us to meet because we were both gay (as if that automatically meant we’d be best friends, lol).
But then, our conversation shifted. We started talking about the state of the world, where things were heading, and the truths hidden beneath the mainstream narrative. I had done my own research, yet here was Rick, voicing thoughts that aligned with mine—without ever using the internet. How did he just know? My mind was spinning.
He invited me over to chat more, and I accepted.
A Home Filled with Magic
Stepping into his house felt like entering an enchanted forest. Lush plants and succulents filled the space, alongside crystals and ancient artifacts. We settled on his patio, where we exchanged stories—who we were, where we came from, and where we were headed.
At the time, I had just graduated with a finance degree but felt lost, searching for something deeper. I told Rick about my growing interest in sustainable farming and the WWOOF program, where people work on farms in exchange for food and shelter, learning to grow their own food.
Unlike most people, who gave me the standard life formula—college, work, marriage, work, retire, die—Rick responded with conviction:
“You can do whatever you set your mind to. You can live a happy life, help others, and do the work needed to help the world evolve.”
His words resonated with me.
The First Encounter with Moldavite
I noticed the crystals in his home and asked about them. He gave me a quick explanation.
“All of these crystals hold different energies. Each one has a specific purpose that can help humans with their well-being.”
I chuckled. Magic rocks? Really?
Rick must have noticed my skepticism because he picked up a dark green crystal—a meteorite.
“This one, Moldavite… I can’t handle it. It’s too much for me.”
My ego kicked in. “Put it in my hand. I got this.”
The moment the Moldavite touched my palm, an intense heat spread from my hand to my right shoulder, then rippled through my entire body. A butterfly appeared by the screen window, and suddenly, I started laughing—pure, unfiltered joy. It felt like I had been transported to a childlike state of wonder and bliss.
At that moment, I knew—this was real.
The next four hours passed in the blink of an eye. The conversation flowed effortlessly, wisdom poured out, and time became irrelevant.
Then, I saw Rick’s face shift. A huge, crooked smile spread across it, almost eerie, yet overflowing with love. Tears streamed down his face as he said,
“There’s a woman here… I think she’s family. She wants you to know she’s so proud of you and who you’ve become. She’s here to guide and support you.”
I brushed it off at first—everyone has loved ones who’ve passed. He could say that to anyone.
But something in me knew—if this was real, it had to be my great-aunt Celeste. She and I had an unbreakable bond, even though she spoke only Spanish and I only English. After her husband passed, she poured all her love into me, fighting my mom for the chance to care for me after work.
Then Rick said it.
“Her name is Celeste?”
Tears welled up in my eyes. How the hell did he know that? More questions flooded my mind, but all I could do was cry. Rick cried even more and laughed,
“Well, shit, if I knew the night would turn like this, I would’ve smoked more!”
We laughed together, both overwhelmed by this incredible moment.
That was the day my life changed forever.
The Second Encounter with Moldavite
A week passed, but my mind could not stop analyzing what had happened. I counted down the days until we met again. When Wednesday finally arrived, I asked Rick,
“Hey, can I hold that Moldavite again?”
Rick smirked. “Oh, you’ve been thinking about it, huh?”
“Not a moment went by without thinking about it.”
He placed the Moldavite in my hand again. The same intense heat spread through my body—but this time, instead of laughing, I was so overwhelmed with joy that tears streamed down my face. How was this even possible?
I needed answers. I turned to the internet. The first page, first paragraph, second or third sentence:
“If you resonate with this stone, you will first feel a heating sensation in your hand, then throughout your entire body. After, you will have an emotional release ranging from laughter to tears.”
I stared at the screen, my heart pounding.
Everything I thought I knew about the world had just been shattered.
I had bonded with a rock. A rock that had redefined my understanding of reality.
